Devotional for Week Nov. 16, 2003 |
We all have our own testimonies on how God has blessed us in our days, or how God has taught us that He is the way, among countless things. God has blessed us in many ways that we might not even know about. It’s true about unanswered prayers, that God has a better way. He always does. And in seeing God move in our lives, is that the end of our testimony? I sooo don’t think so. God has given us the ability to think and speak for many reasons, the main reason is to glorify Him. So what is our testimony on how God has blessed us in great ways in our lives? Tell someone about it. It’s an exciting thing seeing this, and it’s a great way to witness. God has lit a fire in us, a bright light that shines in our joyous faces. Why cover it up? We can sing our own praises about getting a raise at work, or our good grades in school, or our relationships with that special someone. But if we really look back on who has provided these things to us it’s God himself. He deserves the praise. So when we tell someone how great something has been in our lives, don’t cover up the flame by not telling who has provided to you. People are paying attention, and will pay attention… but how can you learn what’s not shown? D.D. |
Luke 8:16-18 16“No one would light a lamp and then cover it up or put it under a bed. No, lamps are mounted in the open, where they can be seen by those entering the house. 17For everything that is hidden or secret will eventually be brought to light and made plain to all. 18So be sure to pay attention to what you hear. To those who are open to my teaching, more understanding will be given. But to those who are not listening, even what they think they have will be taken away from them.” |
